Several groups of women civil societies in five counties in Kenya have been learning ways to prevent and counter radicalization and violent extremism among youth. They received training through the help of UN Women and the government of Japan, in partnership with Kenyas National Cohesion Integration Commission (NCIC).
This comes when reports indicate that teenage girls in Kenya are being radicalized even more often than their male counterparts.

Mrs. Kibibi Abdallah is Mombasa Countys director of education. Nancy Mulu is a project officer at Kenyas National Cohesion Integration Commission. Salma Hemed is a programme officer at Haki Africa, a human rights organization based in Mombasa.
