Sweet Pea Atkinson is a veteran singer who rose to fame when his Detroit-based soul funk band Was (Not Was) scored a top ten Billboard pop hit in 1989 called, Walk the Dinosaur. Following this success, he spent the next few decades as a member of the Boneshakers and performing with the likes of Lyle Lovett, Bonnie Raitt and Kris Kristofferson.
