Summary: Featured speakers/guests:
He rose to fame as half of the most successful folk-rock duo of the 1960s, was also an actor, and went on to have a solo career in music in the 1970s and beyond. Art Garfunkel and his "angelic" voice are featured on this week's KPB, with two Simon & Garfunkel performances and two from Garfunkel's 1975 album, Breakaway. There's a liberal helping of jazz as well, the kind that goes down easy, from pianists Massimo Farao and Lynne Arriale, and from the Roy Hargrove Big Band. The "rock band with horns," Chicago, plays one of its early songs, from 1968. Finally, there are guitar trio performances by two different groups that bring together guitarists of diverse backgrounds--jazz, rock, and classical--to play some very lovely music marked by quiet, relaxed virtuosity.   Larry Kensington
