Chairman of Log Cabin Republicans of New York State
During the current federal election season Angela McKenzie will be speaking with Americans who at a glance might not be identified as conservative because of their race, culture and other social dynamics. To start this series of special broadcasts, she speaks with Gregory T. Angelo who is the Chairman of Log Cabin Republicans of New York State,the nation's only organization of gay Republicans and their allies.
Mr. Angelo became Chairman in 2009, working with the Republican Party on campaigns that allowed the GOP to retake control of the New York State Senate chamber in 2010 and achieve key Congressional victories in that same year. In June 2010, he played a key role in New Yorkers United for Marriage, a bi-partisan coalition established to advocate and lobby for civil marriage equality for all New York citizens.
Mr. Angelo is also the Executive Director of Liberty Education Forum, a non-partisan, nonprofit think tank advocating a message of gay acceptance among conservatives and people of faith by serving as a resource on issues such as tax equity, religious freedom and the science of sexual orientation.
