| Women and Aging: Young women face tremendous pressure to fit physical standards that mainstream society deems attractive. As women age, they have typically become invisible to the male gaze. But, with older women increasingly targeted by media, the goal of maintaining your beauty' and still being a sexual object as an older woman has become an option. Nicole Deagan and Ariana Barer explore this topic with Dr Vivian Diller, author of Face It: What Women Really Feel as Their Looks Change and Irene Tsepnopulous-Elhaimer, Executive Director of Women Against Violence Against Women Rape Crisis Centre. |
