Sue Silver is a nurse anesthetist, poet, and photographer living in Shepherdstown, WV. Her poetry has been published in The Anthology of Appalachian Writers (Shepherd University; vols. III, IV, and V), First Lights (First Light Publishers), and In Good Company (Four Seasons Books). She has read her work on Shepherdstown University Radio (WSHC), where she has cohosted the "Poetry Monday" program with John Case. Her studies include work with Sotto Voce, Shepherd University, and the Appalachian Masters Programs. She has a deep interest and love of the practice of energy medicine and transformational healing of the whole person and finds poetry to be a major vehicle of that work.
Sonja James is the author of Calling Old Ghosts to Supper (Finishing Line Press, 2013), Children of the Moon (Argonne House Press, 2004), and Baiting the Hook (The Bunny and the Crocodile Press, 1999). Her poems have appeared in FIELD, 32 Poems, Court Green, Beloit Poetry Journal, Gargoyle, The Iowa Review, Verse Daily, The South Carolina Review, and Poet Lore, among others. Among her honors are three Pushcart Prize nominations. In addition, she writes a weekly poetry book review column for the West Virginia newspaper The Journal. She has an M.A. in Literature from Duke University. She has two sons and resides in Martinsburg, West Virginia.
